Our Philosophy

Our Caring Teaching Staff

Lowelette Lauderdale

The philosophy of Friendship Preschool is based on current research and theory of best practices in the field of early childhood education.

We believe that children learn best when able to engage and experiment with open-ended materials.  It is through this and interactions with others that children construct knowledge about their world.  To that end, an interactive curriculum that addresses the developmental needs of the whole child is implemented through the following:

*Naturally occurring play which encourages exploration and problem solving

*Exposure to print-rich environment, which facilitates the reading and writing process

*Interactions with teachers, parents, volunteers and other children of varying

cultures, traditions, backgrounds, abilities and interests

*Participation in an environment that encourages critical and divergent thinking

*Daily opportunities to explore art, music, science, math and literature

*Daily opportunities to engage in outdoor or indoor gross motor play

Enrollment Information

Welcome!  Since our beginning in 1983, we have dedicated ourselves to quality programs for children of all faiths from 2 years old through prekindergarten.

Our mission is to provide a safe and stimulating nature-inspired environment for children that supports the social, emotional, intellectual, and motor development of each child enrolled.  We engage the whole child, understanding that all areas of development are interrelated and must be engaged together.

Our curriculum is a dynamic framework that responds to the children’s interests, developmental needs, and Ohio’s standards. Through our curriculum and the use of natural materials we provide children many opportunities to learn problem-solving (both cognitive and social), use their imaginations and creativity, and explore the world around them inside our lovely, sunlight-filled classrooms and outside in our Play Yard and Outdoor Science Lab. Children engage in art, literacy, language, math, science, social studies, music and gross motor each day.

We invite you to come experience our preschool where Children Love to Learn—Naturally! To schedule your tour please call or email: 513-821-5725 x13 or FriendshipPreschoolUMC@gmail.com.
