BECOMING A MEMBER

Find a home in a place of faith, family and fellowship at Friendship

We hope you’ll find this to be a place of faith, family, and fellowship.  There is a place here for you! Your children will grow in Christian love and fellowship here at  Friendship as part of our Sunday School and youth programs.  We offer many bible and adult study classes on issues that are relevant to your life.  You'll have the chance to reach out to humanity with one of our many mission trips.  Make friends that will last a lifetime in one of the many groups here at Friendship, like Prime Time, United Methodist Women, and Stephen Ministries.  But more than anything, we think you’ll find a sense of Christian community here at Friendship. Our members are like a family… we support each other in good times and in bad, and form lifelong friendships.Come in and be a part of Friendship United Methodist Church today!  New member classes form throughout the year as needed. Please contact Pastor Meshach for more information.

FUMC began in 1836 with a group of several dozen Methodists meeting in a schoolhouse in Lockland.  The congregation built their first church in 1843, known as Lockland Methodist Episcopal Church.

In 1874 the church moved to South Wayne Avenue.  Over the next 60 years, the name of the church changed three times, finally settling with Wayne Avenue Methodist Church in 1941.

In the late 1950's, the church elders decided to move to Wyoming.  The first worship services were held in a home on the site of the current church. The name was also changed to Friendship United Methodist.

Today, Friendship United Methodist church welcomes hundreds of members for services and programs throughout the week, and ministries and missions that reach far out into the community and world.
