OUR MISSION : To Be Disciples; To Go And Make Disciples.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Matthew 28:19-20

HISTORY

Our church began in 1836 with a group of several dozen Methodists meeting in a schoolhouse in Lockland. The congregation built it’s first church in 1843, known as Lockland Methodist Episcopal Church.

In 1874 the church moved to South Wayne Avenue. Over the next 60 years, the name of the church changed three times, finally settling with Wayne Avenue Methodist Church in 1941.

In the late 1950's, the church elders decided to move to Wyoming. The first worship services were held in a home on the site of the current church. The new church was built at this site and the name was also changed to Friendship United Methodist Church.

In both the 1990’s and early 2000’s, we expanded the existing facility. Today, FUMC welcomes hundreds of members for services and programs throughout the week. Our ministries and missions reach far out into the community and world.
